ACCIDENT I WILL NEVER FORGET.

Tonight at work i had a front row seat to a really bad accident. There were these group of race bike riders that were going fast on the highway. When out of nowhere there was this loud noise. I heard the noise and then saw the fire in the middle of the highway. I didn't see the accident but call 911 to report the fire. I later learned that a guy on the bike was badly hurt. A car went out of control and hit a pole that fell on the middle of the highway. IDK if the car hit the biker or not. Its a really bad accident. The police had close off the highway for 3 1/2 hours to collected evidence.
My prayers go out to the family of the biker, driver of the car and anyone else involved in the accident. I hope everyone is OK. I really shaken up by this and it scared the hell out of me. Io have happen right there and to hear it is not a pleasant experience. This is something i will never forget.
One of my guys friends is in the military and over seas now. He has one of these racing bikes. I hope from on now he will be safe when he rides it. i let him know this last night. i wish him home safe.

update: the guy was 23 year old Jacob C. Theriot of Lafayette. i will b praying for him, his family, and friends in this time of loss.

Axl Demands Withdrawal of All Quotes Regarding Sydney 500

http://www.gnrdaily.com/news_detail.asp?id=2545

According to Australia's rock station Triple M, Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose has demanded the withdrawal of all his quotes used on the official press release that was sent around the country announcing the band's upcoming appearance at this year's Sydney 500 V8 Supercars street race.

Guns N' Roses will make its second trip to Australia since 1993 when it performs a one-off gig on Saturday, December 4, at ANZ Stadium, following the weekend's first event around the Olympic Park circuit.

"To mix Guns with this massive Sydney event will be a blast," Rose was quoted as saying in the original press release.

"We will be in Europe just before we head to Sydney so it will be great to come out and chill around Australia for a while, spend a bit of time getting around and soaking up the relaxed Aussie vibe.

"When we came back in 2007 it had been about 14 years between tours in Australia and we had a complete ball.

"Bring on Sydney and the V8 Supercars. Hopefully I can get a ride in one of those big beasts while I'm there."

According to The Daily Telegraph, it's believed V8 Supercars officials are paying Guns N' Roses more than AUD $1 million (around USD $886,000) to perform the solitary gig, included in the AUD $91 price (around USD $80) of Saturday's admission.

Guns N' Roses to headline Sydney V8 Supercar race

GUNS N' Roses frontman Axl Rose wants to tear up the track when his band headlines the Sydney round of the V8 Supercar race.

The singer is desperate to drive a V8 Supercar ahead of his performance at ANZ Stadium on Saturday, December 4.

The US rock band have announced they will be returning to Australia for the first time since 2007 to help celebrate the return of the Sydney motor race.

"Bring on Sydney and the V8 Supercars. Hopefully I can get a ride in one of those big beasts while I'm there," says Rose.

"Fast cars and rock'n'roll. I love racing and I love everything about the show.

"To mix Guns with this massive Sydney event will be a blast. Some of our biggest fans are Aussies, and we love coming down there."

The Hollywood rockers have not ruled out gigs in other cities, but the Telstra 500 will be their only Sydney date, organisers have confirmed.

The band's arrival will follow an extensive tour of Europe as patient audiences finally get to hear live cuts from Chinese Democracy.

The album famously took nine years to make before it was finally released by Rose in 2008.

The singer is the only remaining original member of Guns N' Roses, which has sold more than 100 million records worldwide since forming in 1985.

"It will be great to come out and chill around Australia for a while, spend a bit of time getting around and soaking up the relaxed Aussie vibe," he said.

Joining Guns N' Roses at the Sydney race will be skateboard legend Tony Hawk, who will give daily shows over the weekend.

The motor race is expected to attract up to 200,000 fans following its successful inaugural outing last year.

10 Best Guns N' Roses Songs

http://www.aolradioblog.com/2010/07/09/best-guns-n-roses-songs/

10
'My Michelle'
From the band's debut album, 'Appetite for Destruction,' this song is about a friend of the band named Michelle Young. According to Axl, Young mentioned that she had always wanted someone to write a song about her. So he responded with this dark, yet honest, ode, including references to her drug addiction, the death of her mother and her father's work in the pornography industry.

'Don't Cry'
With three versions recorded, 'Don't Cry' ended up on both 'Use Your Illusion' albums. The song features backing vocals by Blind Melon's Shannon Hoon, who also appears in the video. 'Don't Cry' was originally intended to be the first commercial single before the 'Illusions' were released in 1991, but 'You Could Be Mine' was chosen instead to coincide with the release of 'Terminator 2.'

'Nightrain'
The third song on the band's 1987 debut album, 'Nightrain' paid homage to the cheap California wine, Night Train Express. According to legend, GN'R wrote the lyrics while walking down Palm Avenue sharing a bottle. Someone yelled "I'm on the night train!" and the whole band joined in, with Axl improvising the lines in between: "Bottoms up!" "Fill my cup!" After this initial inspiration, the band reportedly finished the song within a day.

07
'Civil War'
Known for sampling Strother Martin's speech in 'Cool Hand Luke' in the intro, as well as featuring the closing line at the end of the song that asks, "What's so civil about war anyway?," 'Civil War' is GN'R's anti-war anthem. It is also the last song on which drummer Steven Adler played before being replaced by Matt Sorum.

'Knockin' on Heaven's Door'
This classic Bob Dylan song has been covered many times over, by the likes of Eric Clapton, the Grateful Dead and the Alarm, but few could argue there is a more popular version than Guns N' Roses'. Originally recorded in 1990 for the 'Days of Thunder' soundtrack, it appeared on 'Use Your Illusion II' in '91.

05
'Patience'
Though there are many rumored interpretations of the song 'Patience,' it's generally accepted to be about the troubled relationship between Axl and now ex-wife Erin Everly, despite being written by guitarist Izzy Stradlin.

'Paradise City'
Despite being the only Guns N' Roses song to use a synthesizer, Slash has stated on record that 'Paradise City' is one of his favorites. Maybe it has to do with his outro, double-time guitar solo -- often cited by guitar critics as one of best rock solos of all time.

'November Rain'
An ode to the traditional rock ballad, 'November Rain' clocks in at just under nine minutes long -- the longest song to ever reach the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. It also featured one of the biggest budgeted videos at the time; about $1.5 million, including a dress worn by Stephanie Seymour worth $8,000. The video for 'November Rain' went on to become MTV's No. 1 on their Top 100 videos of 1992.

'Welcome to the Jungle'
Labeled by Rolling Stone and VH1 as one of the greatest hard rock song of all time, 'Welcome to the Jungle' was the first song co-written by Axl Rose and Slash. Apparently written while the band was in Seattle, the song pays homage to their hometown of Los Angeles. As Izzy summarized, the song as "about Hollywood streets; true to life."

01
'Sweet Child O' Mine'
It's easy to see why 'Sweet Child O' Mine' topped this list of the best Guns N' Roses songs; it's the band's first and only No. 1 single. The hit was a total surprise to the band, with bassist Duff McKagan being quoted as saying the song took five minutes to write, while Slash was said to hate the song due to its roots as a "string skipping" exercise and a "joke." Over two decades later, it's recognized as Guns N' Roses most iconic song.

Choosing the best Guns N' Roses songs is a difficult task to muster. Between the late '80s and early '90s, GN'R's guitar riffs, introspective lyrics and rebellious, riot-insinuating attitude dominated the hard rock scene. But these 10 happen to be AOL Radio Listeners' favorites, including notable hard rock anthems, power ballads, and even the most recognizable cover -- probably ever.
